Travel Purpose: business

Positive: We loved the location and the ocean view. It takes a few minutes to drive to Lindquist beach (one of the best beaches I have ever been) and Red Hook, and takes minutes to walk to Sapphire beach. It is close to a variety of restaurants and grocery stores. Parking is free and convenient, there is plenty of space available inside the unit, the balcony being its best part.

Negative: The mattress was too old, preventing a good night sleep. It is not very expensive to replace it, but it will make a significant difference for the guests. Kitchen utensils were old and worn out as well, a new set will make cooking possible in the unit. Forget the nonstick cookware (gets scratched immediately) and plastic cups, or plastic anything. Steel cooking set and utensils and glass/porcelain cups will not cost too much, but again will make a significant difference. Also, remove the clutter from other guests, they do not help. Nothing is as disgusting as another person's toe nail clipper in the bathroom closet, not to mention half-used leftovers. Any item left should be just trashed. The owner had too many locked closets and spaces, as well as a locked washer/dryer (not sure if it worked if not locked), which should have been better organized and consolidated into one space, including personal pictures on the wall. One last thing is the missing safe, people should not carry around their valuables on their vacation, a safe is a necessity. The door lock is very old with mechanical lock code (4 out of 5 digits), which further increases the need for a safe. Changing the door lock with a modern and safer alternative would be a good investment.

Summary: Very good location and view, but needs renovation inside the unit.
